CHILDREN’S WORKSHOPS IN THE NURSERY WORKSHOP

Encourage and inspire budding horticulturalists in GROW London’s fun, friendly and hands-on children’s workshops. Kids can make a pet slug, plant a sweetcorn pot, and much more! Prompt your little gardeners to take a closer look at nature by getting their green fingers dirty.

All our workshops are free and spaces are available on a first-come basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

FRIDAY 24 JUNE

CUT AND PASTE JUNGLE WORKSHOP
1 - 2pm
Collage fun inspired by the cut-outs of Henri Matisse. Use a variety of papers, cut out ferns, palms, and bamboo leaves to create colourful compositions, or create your own greetings card. Jazz up your design with more exotic plant species from Bromeliads (spiky long leaved flowering plants) to orchids, Heliconia and the carnivorous Pitcher Plants.

THE CHILDREN’S GARDEN
4 - 5pm
Join author Matthew Appleby and discover just a few of the many exciting family garden projects from his latest book ’The Children’s Garden‘. Take your pick from planting cress and popcorn heads to crafting your own pinecone hedgehog, or bring along an old sock to make your own pet slug. Matthew will also be showing us how to make the world’s cheapest and comfiest children’s garden chair from scratch! Matthew’s book will be available for signing at the bookshop.
